Long’s Outfitters is actively involved in the management of the local wildlife to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of our local game. We play an active role in the Virginia Game and Inland Fisheries’ DMAP program to keep a fair buck-doe ratio in our community.
We are a leader in wildlife habitat management and development and provide a convenient source for maintaining a productive habitat on our properties. We use professional, scientifically designed high protein wildlife seed mixes to increase the numbers and size of game on our properties. You will reap the rewards of healthier, heavy antlered Bucks, Turkey, and other small game.
FOOD PLOTS - "You are what you eat." This is very true in deer management. Starting a habitat improvement plan with food plots has the potential to make such a difference in deer quality, and quantity. There are two types of food plots, nutritional and hunting plots. Nutritional plots are there for just that, increase nutrition, while hunting plots are designed to improve hunting success.
WATER MANAGEMENT - Long’s Outfitters manage, develop, and protect water and related resources in an environmentally manner in the interest of our wildlife. We cooperate with federal agencies to promote a better understanding of ecosystems.
